This week we will continue to talk a little bit about recycling. We will also talk about butterflies, and review shapes and environmental print. Thank you to all of you who have signed up for parent teacher conferences on Monday, April 23. If you have not signed up yet please do so. Here are our plans for the week:
Monday
Today we will talk about symmetry. We will make a butterfly with 2 wings that are exactly the same. We will also review shapes and practice our coloring skills. Our story today is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. After we read the story we will make a caterpillar and the children will dictate to me what their hungry caterpillars might eat.

Tuesday

Large Group – talk about lifecycle of the butterfly
Small Group Both Groups – cutting and name writing assessments
Story – Butterfly, Butterfly!
Today in art we will finish making our butterflies out of the toilet paper tubes that you sent in.

Wednesday

Large group – shape review
Small Group – coloring assessment
Story – Shapes
Today in art we will be using shapes to make pictures.

Thursday

Large Group – review environmental print with a grocery theme
Small Group A.M. – pre-printing practice
Small Group P.M. - letter Z activity
Story – I Stink

Friday
Today both classes will be working with position concepts. The morning class will play a game where they have to move an animal to the place described (for example put the bear under the chair). The afternoon class will complete a paper and play position word Bingo. Our story today is Go Dog Go.
